Royalty Collections:  In 1997, GSD developed an agreement with the University of Georgia Research Foundation (UGARF) to be responsible for royalty assessment and collection of UGARF/GSD-licensed plant varieties.  Under this agreement, 50 percent of the net royalty from varieties is returned to University of Georgia for varietal development research to develop the next cycle of improved plants.  GSD’s valuable experience in royalty collection is available to other seed organizations.

Royalty Auditing:  Since 2010, GSD has contracted with an outside agency to provide royalty auditing for UGARF/GSD-licensed plant varieties.  This service provides an objective level of separation between UGARF, GSD and the licensees with regards to financial issues.
