Pre-release Increases: GSD initiates Foundation increases of pre-released turf grass varieties to save two years in providing licensees with adequate Foundation sprigs to jumpstart their sales. For row crops such as soybean and peanuts, GSD utilizes winter season increases to save a year in the commercialization process.

Purity Combine Harvesting: GSD operates a specially designed Almaco Purity Combine to harvest Foundation seed of new wheat and soybean varieties. Initially engineered for efficient cleanout of new varieties possessing regulated transgenes, this combine was developed to ensure that seed from one variety is not contaminated by seed from another variety.
