GEORGIA-02C IS A HIGH-YIELDING, HIGH-OLEIC
RUNNER-TYPE VARIETY

GEORGIA-02C is a new high-oleic runner-type variety that was released in 2002 by the Georgia Agricultural Experiment Stations. It was developed at the University of Georgia’s Coastal Plain Experiment Station in Tifton, GA. Georgia-02C has the same maturity as Georgia Green with seed and pod size slightly larger. It also has

the high oleic and low linoleic fatty acid oil chemistry with spreading runner growth habit similar to AgraTech 201. Georgia-02C has resulted in higher yields, grades and dollar value returns per acre than Carver, C-99R, Norden, Hull, and AgraTech 201. It has excellent TSWV and CBR resistance.

Georgia-02C was developed by Dr. William D. Branch at the University of Georgia’s Coastal Plain Experiment Station in Tifton GA. It is a protected peanut variety that can only be sold as a class of certified seed and only by individuals licensed by the Georgia Seed Development Commission (GSDC) under guidelines established in conjunction with the University of Georgia Research Foundation (UGARF).
